Respect each other's personal space

Meggie Poo, 22, a public relations coordinator for an Advertising and Public Relations company in Virginia, moved back home after her May 2006 college graduation. Today, simple respect goes a long way in keeping the peace at home, she says.

"Before I invite guests over, I will ask [my parents] or inform them in advance that we will have visitors. In return, they do not open my door when I'm in my room, and they let me have my space," Poo says.

"Also, my boyfriend stays late, but he never stays the night at my house. He also lives at home, and we follow the same rule at his house," she adds."

Boyfriend's thoughts on my quotes, he's comical:
  • You sound like a conservative christian librarian who works at heaven and earth at night and collects stuffed animals in the hopes of building a stuffed animal ark and putting two of each on the ark
  • Did you say we only watch PG movies... because I don't like the swear words?
  • Also, when you said late, did you later clarify that "late" meant "9:30 PM" because I have a curfew?
  • Did you also say that we're saving "hand holding" for marriage?
  • Honey, you left out:
    • "I believe women who wear pants will burn in the fires of eternal torment"
    • "My boyfriend and I met when we were both stepping over a dirty homeless person who had fallen out of favor with the Lord."
    • "I believe I'm a good candidate to carry the next coming of our savior."
