I'd like to learn how to play poker. Again. I'd like to learn how to play poker again.
I've been taught twice. People get really into it and it seems pretty fun. The last time I played I lost and kept skipping people- but no one seemed to mind really. I had to print out this web page so I knew what I was doing (sort of).
Maybe it's because I have a tendency to always want to play gin rummy. Now that's a fun game. Anyone in?

All I Want Video
Honestly I'm just posting this so I don't forget that this video exists. It's easy to get caught up in the day to day and lose track of your purpose. Videos like these- with subtle, modern and moving messages- help me stay on track. I love this. Amen.
You've Got Mail
When people ask me my favorite movie it often makes me think... for a while. The first thing that pops in my head is "You've Got Mail". It does everything right. In fact, I love it so much I can probably quote most of it. If you'd like to do the same (quote most of the movie) visit this site to read the transcript. This link has been in my "favorites" for six years. I almost never look at it (honestly), unless I'm going through my links and go "oh yeah... I have that".
My favorite line:
"Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today I saw one. I couldn't believe it. It got on at 42nd and got off at 59th, where I assume it was going to Bloomingdale's to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake. As almost all hats are."
Other favorite movie: Sleeping Beauty. What's yours?
Swiffer Video from HCD
My coworkers made this. It's awesome. I'll let you know when you can vote on it!

Dad's Fort: No Girlz Allowed
So my Dad is sleeping in a mini fort in the living room on a mattress while we paint their room and get the floors redone. Mom is upstairs in an extra bedroom but Dad likes to be wild. Notice the Vicks and alarm clock by the bed side.
Earlier, my Mom said "I'm sleeping on my side of the bed when he's not here. But look at this. He sleeps in the middle like he doesn't even need me there."
He's a free man.

Ugh.
That last post was stupid. Sometimes people shouldn't be allowed to use a keyboard. Even me. If I was actually in charge of taking care of the aforementioned party I'd probably just lock in her a room and bore the crazy right out of her.
What do you think, fans of my blog (sister, boyfriend and possibly a random person who is now regretting clicking on that link)?

How To Help a Damaged Starlet
If my opinion was to be solicited in how to help a young, damaged starlet- what would I do? If Britney Spears saw this blog and thought that it would be a good idea to lay low for a while and hang out in Virginia this is what I'd do and how it would help...
1) Sleep. Lack of sleep causes people to go crazy. It is our body's natural way to heal and rejuvenate itself. I'd make you sleep. Then we'd make some waffles with extra maple syrup and watch television until noon because that is how people relax.
2) No cell phones. No one needs to be accessible all the time every day. Every once in a while it's nice but if you're constantly being beckoned how can you have time for yourself? If people constantly want a piece of you... what will be left?
3) Make your own coffee. You'll learn to appreciate it.
4) Do not be seen. It's not the end of the world. And if people forget about you, what is the big deal? You don't need money. I would not allow anyone to come near my house to take a picture and I don't understand how that's legal. If people follow you when you leave your house then don't act like they're not there: Pose for a picture and politely ask them to stay away. If they don't then leave know that a loud voice and a big stick do more than you would think.
5) Play some video games. By yourself. Read a book in a room with the door shut. Do things that require no one else's input but still entertain. It's a small victory but when you beat a level of a video game or turn the last page of a book but it's nice.
6) Call your family and actually listen to them. Don't talk. Draw your children pictures and send them pieces of paper with kisses on them. Go through your old yearbooks and laugh at the signatures on the front and back. Remember who you are and who you wanted to be and then be it. It's not hard.
I just hope someone around her has sense enough to suggest any of the above. It must be lonely...

I Forgot.
I forgot my New Years resolution. What if it was to remember more?
When I Googled "forgot" this was one of the first images that popped up... it's pretty funny so click on it and read it.
