This blog, by name, promises thoughts. Here are a few I've had on Facebook recently:
1) I love that my Mom is on Facebook. It's adorable and gives us even more to talk about. She's finding new connections and learning more about her computer everyday. I love it! And I love finally being able to teach my mother something after she taught me so much.
2) I love that my Mom's friends are friending me on Facebook (yes, it's a verb). There have been a few outliers- the tee-ball and youth basketball team mom's - that have taken me by surprise, but I accepted. I am a pretty good Facebook friend accepter. If I'm not comfy with you seeing all my biz, you just get limited.
3) I have recently gone through a major Facebook friend upheavel. Despite what I said in #2, I don't like to be randomly Facebooked without meeting or at least feeling like I have an OK sense of who the person is first. A few of these people went (don't worry, if you're reading this blog you're prob not one of them).
4) Others that didn't survive included old residents of my hall that were not super jazzed to be under my care (I used to be an RA), boyfriends of old residents on my hall (silly, huh?), classmates I never talk to anymore (and don't even speak to if I see them at a restaurant) and people I met at gatherings or parties at JMU. Overall, it wasn't a big cut, but it felt good doing so.
5) The latest issue of Real Simple has a GREAT article on Baby Boomer mom's getting on Facebook. It's much better than the CNN article IMHO (that's "in my humble opinion", mom). Check it out!
All done now. I'm going to finish burning some CD's that boyfriend is letting me borrow then hit the hay. CD's include: Neil Diamond, The National and Jimmy Buffett. How have I lived this long without the legit Buffett songs on my computer?

My mom is on facebook too but she's not tech savvy or else I'd fear she'll find my blog.
I've already told you my standards for being Facebook friends- that being said we need to fix our situation before all the bloggers start trying to friend me.
The National is a great band! Which album are you checking out?
it was "the boxer". haven't listened to it but boyfriend loves it. i'm excited!
I just found your blog through Ohmygoshi and am right there with you on the facebook friend situation. I sat down and de-friended a whole bunch of people I didn't know...only to have a few of them try to re-friend me the next day. Creepy.
"1) I love that my Mom is on Facebook."
You are the only person I've EVER heard say that...
Anyhoo, I have you beat. My GRANDFATHER is on Facebook. Yikes.
Boxer's great - if you like it, check out Alligator as well, it's just as good. Their earlier material doesn't quite measure up, but those two records are must-haves.
Lilu- your grampa- wow. All I have to say. Thanks for reading!
Linzml- Yes, some people just don't need to know all my info anymore!
Charlie- I'll have to get it from boyfriend. He's the one with all the taste in music. I have good taste, but mine, as you know, leans always towards the Dixie Chicks. I can't help it!
