Remember when times were simpler... on Facebook?

I love the Way Back Machine. It will take you to any Web site archived on the Web somewhere.
I tried to login to the old Facebook, the way it was when it wasn't open to the public and only a few colleges had access.

Remember this?

It wouldn't log me in to see how things were back then, and I can't even remember. Gone are the days without newsfeeds, wall to wall messages and Fan pages. I like the new way of Facebook, it's fun, but wouldn't it be easier to teach our parents how to use Facebook by using the older model?

FB just unveiled Facebook Lite at http://lite.facebook.com

It's a trimmed down version similar to old FB, and it would probably be a great place for our parents to get started on Facebook.

Probably- but what's the point of using it for folks like us, the facebook pros?

Your wish has been granted: Facebook Lite. Maybe the answer for those who want a no-frills format that's easy to learn. But...no pages. That is a drawback (or benefit, depending on how you look at it) :)

Aw man, I registered on the original Facebook pretty early on, as UF students were able to start using it ages ago. I miss it...just looking at the page reminds me of freshman year.

I heard about this FB lite- I have to check it out.

I'm not surprised Way-Back machine couldn't take us to old FB, that kind of stuff lives on databases and the pages we saw were just spit out stuff on templates...

anyways Social Media is getting more and more complex as we demand more and more- kinda like computers when they came out.

I think I missed the beginning of Facebook. Regardless, I'm not happy with where it's going. My homepage is always filled with quizzes people have taken. It's so cluttered!
